From Assemblywoman Cottie Petrie-Norris

__SALUTATION__

California's 4.1 million small businesses are critical to the state's economy. In fact, small businesses comprise 99.8% of all businesses in California and have especially felt the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

This year, the State Legislature will celebrate small businesses during the month of August. My office is excited to honor a small business that has made a lasting impact locally and persevered through these unprecedented times. As we take the time to reflect on the importance of small businesses, I invite you to submit a nomination for Small Business of the Year. Each month we'll also be honoring one small business in each of the six cities I represent: Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, Laguna Beach, Irvine, Costa Mesa and Laguna Woods.

Now that we are returning to pre-pandemic life, it is essential to support local small businesses. As the Chair of the Assembly Select Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, I am focused on stabilizing small businesses, saving jobs and setting California on a course for robust economic growth.

Please nominate an outstanding small business by filling out a short entry form on my website. We will be accepting nominations through Thursday, June 17, 2021.

My office is always available to answer your questions or connect you with any state resources.

Yours faithfully,
Cottie Petrie-Norris Signature
