This Saturday I will be hosting a free Child Car Seat Safety event co-hosted by the California Highway Patrol and the Irvine Police Department which will feature Irvine Councilwomen Melissa Fox and Farrah Khan.

When I learned that forty-three percent of children who have died in car crashes were improperly restrained, I was horrified. Properly securing our kids in safety seats goes a long way in keeping them safe - join me and the CHP to double check your car seats to ensure your kids are protected.

• Is your child's car seat installed correctly? It is estimated that 73% of car seats are not used or installed correctly.
• Specially trained technicians will be available to inspect car seats and make sure that they are properly installed and equipped.
• The event is free but you must RSVP on my website.

Attendees are welcome to bring questions about public safety and other important legislative issues.
